The Ultimate Bellydance Workout with Jehan ****
This DVD is nice because it is broken down into small 5 minute segments that are titled "Joy" or "Sensuality" so you can do short increments and come back later, or do the whole thing with warm-up and cool- down. It is very easy to do this video and wear baby, and a good overall video that goes by very fast.
Bellydance for body shaping -Abs with Neon.*****
This series is probly one of the best bellydance DVD's out there. I personally love it because Andy Troy (a personal trainer) shows which abs muscle group you are using, and the 2 globes stacked on each other give a 3-d explanation of which way your hips and or ribs are going.

This series is probly one of the best bellydance DVD's out there. I personally love it because Andy Troy (a personal trainer) shows which lower body muscle group you are using, while Neon artfully performs a fun work-out...and the 2 globes stacked on each other give a 3-d explanation of which way your hips and or ribs are going.

I really like this DVD, it has a beautiful set and it is very relaxing and fun to excercise with baby while doing this video, also it is longer than the first one, and Shamira has a soothing voice.
FINALLY AN EXCERCISE DVD that I CAN COMFORTABLY DO WHILE NURSING!!!
Winsor pilates bun and thigh*****
This DVD was perfect when my baby/toddler was nursing. I put the DVD in and did it while laying on my bed. Mari does 10 minutes on each side, perfect for nursing each side. Also the baby/ toddler does not get in the way of the excercises while he/she nurses,it makes an excellent morning routine!!! Oh! And it really does work your buns and thighs too!! I found this made me bellydance better since I was stronger in my hips, legs and buns.

Your target heart rate is the key to fat burning!!
To Burn or NOT TO BURN FAT is the question***** by Len Lopez
This is a well written book by a doctor, who puts in plain English
how to burn fat. Many women work too hard and put their target heart rate into *lean muscle tissue burning mode*, but *fat burning mode* is the key to healthy and long-term weight loss
and fitness. Very good and quick read! Every woman should have this knowledge!
This is a heart rate monitor watch, that way you can check your heart rate without having to find your pulse with your finger. I have used one for years, and they are great for maintaining your target, aerobic FAT BURNING heart rate (180-age)
(Sometimes my dad finds one at the good will for a good deal.)
ATTENTION ALL MOMMIES!
Remember to wear good supportive shoes while dancing or excercising (or anytime), especially for pregnant moms, and for moms who wear their babies.
I HIGHLY reccomend wearing shoes with a good arch support
and a *negative heel* (Kalso Heel, from Ann Kalso the yoga teacher)
I ONLY wear *Earth Shoes* because of this. After lots of foot pain from pregnancy I found these and threw out ALL of my other shoes. You can search google, or amazon for Earth shoes, or try my favorite www.zappos.com I DO NOT SELL these shoes, all though my friends tease me that I should, because I am always talking about them. My favorite earth shoe is the women's energetic earth shoe. You only have one pair of feet you know! Protect them.

Great Excercise DVD's you can do WITH your BABY
Baby and mommy Bellydance and Excercise Videos
...So the temperature outside is 10 degress (plus a windchill of minus 3) and you don't wanna lug all the kids out to the gym, braving snow, ice and H1N1. BUT you still want to excercise... here are some ideas to get you going this winter:
Put your baby / toddler in a secure carrier, such as a Baby Wrap like the Moby, Baby Sling, like the Maya, or baby K'tan, or an
Asian baby Carrier like the *Ergo Baby carrier*, or Babyhawk.
Turn on some groovy music and clean the house, do a dance, do laundry, walk up and down the stairs (carefully), or call a friend with your cordless phone and walk around in circles as you chat!
Or if you need motivation (like me on most days) You can try one of these DVD's that I have personally used while wearing my son in a carrier. (plus carrying baby along gives you the extra umph to usually break a good cleansing sweat, and in most cases even qualifies as a weight bearing load which we all have heard is supposed to be good for strong bones but WEAR GOOD SHOES!!! )
When you excercise with baby, baby and mommy are happy!
p.s. remember for fat burning, keep your heart rate in the aerobic zone, if you go ABOVE the aerobic zone you STOP burning fat and start burning lean muscle tissue.
A good rule of thumb is 180 minus your age, so for me 180-30==150.
150 is my target heart rate. (subtract another 10 pts if you have not done much aerobic activity lately, and of course always consult your doc or midwife)
